You can’t even ignite 4oz of glow fuel by shooting it with a shotgun. Even glow fuel with MORE than 25% nitro content!
So EVERYONE knows lithium batteries can catch fire in a crash. All it requires is a puncture or over-current during the flight. What the electric head’s don’t get is glow fuel WILL NOT IGNITE in a crash. PERIOD. No part of an airplane, including a battery short electric spark, will light glow fuel! The ONLY part of a model plane that is hot enough to ignite it is the combustion chamber DURING combustion!!!
Where any good old puncture will cause huge reaction in lithium batteries…
