Blade 550X Pro RC Heli – First Flight Ends Bad With a Hard Crash
After losing a Goblin 500, I decided to try again with a bigger heli. The Blade 550X assembled quickly, but I still spend weeks making sure everything was tight and tuned. Apparently it didn’t matter because the second I tried a loop I could hear the motor cut out. I was hoping that it would kick back in, but it didn’t. It just fell and there was nothing I could do to stop it. No more big helis for me. Repair costs are just too much. I am sticking with the 450s and smaller.

FPV RC Helicopter Footage – Walkera V450D03 (Battery Dies / CRASH)

This is me still testing a Walkera V450D03 with custom FPV mount and landing gear. While trying to figure out which head-speed causes less vibration on the camera mount, I ran into a bit of an oopsie. The battery died mid-air using the Castle Creations Edge 50 set to “Soft Cut” and “Governor” modes. So much for the voltage-cut being “soft.” I’ll let you be the judge. Fast forward to the end where the crash takes place.

– Walkera V450D03 RC Helicopter
– Running on 22.2 volts now (6S)
– Scorpion HK-2221-2010 V2 Brushless Motor (2010KV) 6S T-REX 450PRO V2
– PHOENIX EDGE 50 (32V 50 AMP) BRUSHLESS ESC W/5A BEC
– MKS DS95 Micro Coreless Digital Cyclic Servo on tail
– Full Tarot 480 Tail Extension
– 345mm Tarot Carbon Fiber Blades
– KDS N290 Digital Micro Metal Gear Cyclic Servos (Yes, I made them work.)

Yanick Wolter mit dem Soxos 800. Leider war das Ende der Flugdarbietung nicht so schön. Aber trotzdem vielen Dank an den Piloten für diesen einzigartigen Flug. Auf solchen Veranstaltungen gehen die Piloten an Ihre Grenzen. Es kommt deshalb ab und zu mal vor das ein Heli neu aufgebaut werden muss.

Steffen Richter auf der ROTOR Live 2014 in Iffezheim mit dem T-Rex 700 Nitro DFC.
Der Heli ist leider bei Minute 3:10 in der Luft geplatzt nach dem der Heckausleger den Boden berührt hat.

Schöne grosse Scale Agusta A109 mit Verbrenner Motor. Geflogen auf dem grossen Sommerflugfest in Vehlefanz im Juli 2014. Leider ist die Maschine im Kornfeld gelandet. Der Pilote meinte auch schon im Vorfeld, dass der Motor nicht genügend Druck hat. Ist aber nichts dramatisches passiert.
