The Eachine E200 is perhaps one of the best small scale RC helicopters on the market right now due in part to the amazing scale details, combined with the direct drive main motor performance & efficiency. It also flies great!

It is however not for everyone. Why?

Like all finely detailed scale RC helicopters, the Eachine E200 is fragile and harder to work on than a comparable sized pod & boom 200 size collective pitch RC helicopter.

Also like all scale RC helicopters, scale comes at a price premium & costs substantially more than an equivalent, similar size & spec pod & boom collective pitch RC helicopter.

You therefor have to be a scale RC helicopter enthusiast and competent collective pitch RC helicopter pilot in order to appreciate what this amazing scale Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk RC helicopter has to offer without crashing it. The E200 like all scale RC helicopters is no good for learning on.

As you’ll see in this review, the 1/47 scale E200 is an impressive scale heli. It not only looks great statically and up in the air, but it flies amazing well with the smoothness and predictability of larger collective pitch RC helicopters.

  • the kid collector:

Heyyy there!! Awesome video love it after watching this i suddenly want one of these, just asking, are the controls same as the RC ERA C186?

  • Jimmy Robinson:

I guess I'm stupid, I can't figure out were to buy any of these cool helicopters, why don't they sell them at a Damm retail store.

  • David Jacobs:

I would recommend BO105 model (C186) from the same company over this one for beginners.
the battery is easier to install and remove, and the outer shell is made of tougher material, that can take some beating.
mechanically, they are pretty much the same helicopters. I believe the name of the manufacture is YuXiang, but they use several brand names including
"RC ERA" "FliteZone" "G-Force" "Modstar" "Eachine" etc.

  • Jon Spikes:

? this little heli so scale & a blast to fly ?

  • shortgrey sma:

When I think of the little radio-controlled helicopters released only 10 years ago, which were really crap to fly, and when I see this little plastic thing that flies almost by itself….(I think of my little solo pro v1 that I still have)

  • Calvertfilm:

Hi from what I understand the optical flow system waits a second or so before it kicks in after you have made a move yourself, so that is why it may drift a little. Also the optical flow does not operate during yaw hence why it drifts then. Whenever you move the controls the optical flow system is overridden. That's my understanding of the model. It's not as sophisticated as a GPS system on a more expensive drone but then for the money what it does is cool.

  • Anthony Lawson:

Did the manual say “calibration without deflections”? Maybe the weed reflections would be a better translation, try to calibrate it on a less reflective surface. Just a thought. ?

  • Marbles:

Did anyone catch how it compares to the C186?

  • puff3456:

That unbox/build/radio setup had me cracking up, great vid

  • HISHIFUKU???:

  • sunblock50plus999:

I want one hi from Australia ??

  • Jono Edwards:

Yum, forget the Crappy Chopper, Look at that Lawn already, need a couple of Flags to chip at. Grass always grows toward the sun. Dig out a bunker, fill it up with quicksand while Your at it Ace!

  • EJ 74:

    Cool little heli ?

  • mako shark:

Just ordered one on the strength of your review, Thank you.

  • MrGoat73:

This looks like the same basic system as the Eachine E120 that I have. Mine always defaults to mode 1 (right hand throttle) but if you need to swap, just hold the auto take off & land button down whilst powering on the transmitter. You will have to do this EVERY time you power on, but you’ll get used to it! You’ll know which mode you’re in when you try to arm the system with the throttle up down process?

  • Calvertfilm:

Great review and good to see this one. I have three similar Helis – E120x2 and orange C186 (no optical flow) and although they help themselves to fly quite a lot you do still have to fly them yourself as they are not as refined as a drone. This gives you the chance to get on with the business of flying rather than fighting the aircraft. Now I know purists will still prefer to learn the hard way and they will build skills that way and be able to eventually do stunts, 3D etc, and that is fine if that is your direction. But for me, just wanting to fly a heli simply and cheaply these are the perfect solution and without them I would never have bothered with helis. I really don't need to do anything more myself in the world of helis. So it is horses for courses, and that is what is great about the hobby giving so much choice now. If it's not for you fine, and if it is for you have fun. That's what all hobbies are ultimately about.

  • J G:

what a beautiful view you have in the backyard!!

  • Truth:

That helicopter is BS. Them chinese MF sent you a good good helicopter. They sent me some garbage. That helicopter is garbage mine always driff.

No Brian tell the people that helicopter garbage. Them chinese MF need to know they cant play with America money.

  • Earth Ling:

When I started flying helis in 2012 the OG heli pilots gave me flack because my heli was flybarless with a gyro instead of flybar. Having flown both flybarless/flybar I see why they said that and now I watch these helis take off and fly on their own more akin to quads I totally get them now. The pain you have to go through flying, crashing, repairing, dreaming about, then fly again and repeat really helps you concentrate on what's wrong so you can fly better. I remember just taking off seemed impossible. You then learn that as soon as you start spooling up you are flying but on the ground. Learning how to adjust the ground effects develops super subtle stick control. This helps enormously for landings. Crash landings are costly in time and money for helis. For FPV quads you hover a foot or three above ground and kill motors. No harm done. Helis need to be true. Plus it's really fun to land just like a plane is fun; sometimes more fun than flying. This heli looks great for indoors and calm evenings outside. Thanks for flying and reviewing helis Brian. I love all flying robots that are peaceful. . .

    https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/scale-rc-helicopters.html

Addressing all rivet counters who have the same two comments/questions about the scale accuracy of this model:

    1. Main blades turning the wrong way: What you may not realize it that approximately 90% of all RC helicopters (100% of all this size) have CW rotating mains, and in order to switch the rotation direction, Eachine would have to have a different FBL system/firmware to accommodate the opposite phase lag & reactive torque. Something tells me they are not going to that trouble or expense for one single small heli in their entire line-up. And honestly who even cares? Once it's spooled, you can't tell which way they are turning; you simply see an opaque rotor disc.

    2. Doesn't have a true scale 4 bladed tail rotor: Some basic Newtonian physics involved with that scale compromise. All small helis like this one these days use a brushless motorized direct drive fixed pitch tail rotor because it's the best option in terms of performance, robustness, efficiency (thrust & energy), ease of maintenance, weight & cost. Thrust changes with this design occur only by motor speed changes, not tail blade AOA pitch changes; so the faster the tail motor can speed up and slow down, the better the tail hold & tail authority will be. A 4 bladed tail rotor would have too much rotating mass to accelerate & decelerate fast enough (slow response time) to counter the fast torque changes from the main rotor. In short, both anti-torque control and tail authority would SUCK. Other manufacturers have already tried this and it doesn't work – period! The most that has been used with acceptable results are 3 bladed fixed pitch tail rotors; however a two bladed fixed pitch tail rotor still works the best in terms of reaction speed, performance & efficiency. https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-helicopter-rudder.html

These are the necessary scale compromises required to have a decent & efficient flying scale RC helicopter in this 200 size range. This is not a static model that sits on the shelf collecting dust after all; believe it or not, RC enthusiasts actually want to fly it and we want a good performing heli while doing so. ?

  • David Jacobs:

is this the same scale as Heli Max UH-60 from 10 years ago ?

  • sebastien dubois:

    cool

  • Toby Dziubala:

    Damn nice piloting John

  • Peter Gunn:

Great review. Is mode 1 or mode 2? I been out of RC Helis for awhile. This little Hawk looks awesome!

  • En Lightened:

Please can u tell me is this the same heli as the Eachine E135 2.4G 6CH Direct Drive heli. Thank u

  • Tamar Topuria:

    ???

  • American Law Dawg:

Looks cool, will never buy due to the battery

  • Beth Motgomery:

    Modifiable for spectrum you say??

    I am in!

  • NighthawkCarbine:

What brand and model radio are you using?

  • Peter Bruns:

I'm trying to decide whether I should buy this or the YXZNRC F09-S, which is the scale Coast Guard helicopter. FLight time is my priority, but these two probably have the same 10-12 minute range. Any advice?

  • Bronx Blue Angels:

I have the Eachine 200 Blackhawk…I'm noticing that it's taking over 2 hours to charge it's battery…is this normal, and how long should it take…it came from the factory with 2 bars?

  • Steve Miller:

Just found your video on this monster, is the radio that comes with it horrible? Just curious, looks like you are using your own radio. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
