The Aeroscout was the hardest plane out of all of the planes that I have flown since 1984… when I was 14 years old… the one I had was horrible and keeping it in the air was a chore… I had it set up and balanced and everything maybe I just got a garbage one but it was honestly the hardest plane to keep in the air… the eachines on the other hand are one of the greatest most amazing planes in my opinion… the only thing that stinks about them is if you hit something by accident it usually ruins the plane because when you hit something it jams the propeller spindle into the plane and usually ruins that little gear setup in there… but otherwise I love the eachines planes.
One of best planes for beginners are balsa wood planes, it’s simple and efficient and can be bought on Amazon for 10/20 dollars but u have to wait a week and the plane is easy to break

I have a grand-nephew that's autistic. He loves airplanes. Can you suggest the cheapest most durable model I could get him as a gift for his 8th birthday. Honestly, he won't know the difference… if it can fly it, he'll be happy, but heart broken when it crashes. Anything that is cheap (relatively speaking; I don't mind spending some money on it), and may survive a crash, would be nice. Thanks in advance for any help.

I ended up buying 2 AeroScout's one for me and one for my 12 year old son Have to say such a stable easy to fly plane and so forgiving tho on mine i have changed out the 30amp esc and the motor as wanted a bit of poke with out buying a new plane just yet

The aero scout is super fun for even seasoned pilots. I've had mine for a few years and love it.
I have the HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF, it's a great little plane to fly. It has 6 channels so I can use the transmitter on more advanced planes too. SAFE is great, being able to turn it off and on is great. The panic button is also great for when you get disoriented and need it to level off.
