• Requires knowledge to buy the components
• Spares are pricey

• This is a KIT (no servos, even no blades – by default) – although there are various combos available.

• Well known quality brand
• Spare parts everywhere
• Very reliable construction
• Kit contains everything apart from battery, charger and transmitter + receiver
Cons
• A crash is pricier (still affordable) due to its bigger size
• Can be terrifying

• Almost nothing included (even blades) (although various combo kits can be available time to time)
• A bit terrifying to beginners

• This is a model of the year, and will last for years
• Cheap spares (compared to competitors)
• This is a pro training heli
• Ideal for smacking
• Very calm
Cons:
• Almost nothing included (even blades) (V1 is available even in combo w servos, esc, blades and motor)
• Definitely terrifying
• New model, so there’s a theoretical risk of unforeseen problems

Lol hard landing you even heard it slam
I started by messing around with heliopters on a simulator, then i learnt the basics on a Blade MCPX, then i sort of forgot about helicopters for a few years before building a T-Rex 550X. The 550X is a really smooth and easy thing to fly.
If you can fly an MCPX type heli competently, and you can get over the fear of flying big helis, a 550 size heli is a great option and you will progress far faster.

Well said. I remember I learned with a simulator, I then actually messed with small micros like the blade nano and xk110. I got my first trex 450 after that and I've never stopped since.
A beginner is going to want to get a kit that has everything in it.
The T-REX 470LP and 470LM are great helis too great price cheap on parts

I wouldn't advise a 500 size for beginners, especially if they do not have a dedicated field to fly at. It's a danger to others around.
