Part 1 – Experimental RC Plane

This is the introduction video to my new project for an experimental forward swept wing RC Plane. My Friend Chris Malysiak had the original idea for the plane and we worked together to refine it and make the final plan that I am working from. We are not sure how good it will fly , but figure we will give it a shot and see what happens. ———————————————- Also we are now announcing our new Monthly Drawing/Giveaway to thank our subscribers! We wish we could give a prize to everyone, but we can afford to give ONE prize a month. So if you would like to be entered in our drawing, you must : (1) Be a SUBSCRIBER to our rcFoamFighters YouTube Channel (2) Send an EMAIL to admin@rcfoamfighters.com with “your YouTube name” in the email. and “June 2009 Drawing” as the Subject. (ONLY SEND ONE EMAIL, multiple emails will not be counted) Drawing will be held during the last week of each month. We will contact the winner by email and also annouce the ONE winner in a video shortly after. ———————————————- Please see our Blog for more information on our Drawing/Giveaway Blog Link: rcfoamfighters.com ———————————————–

My friend Manny who is a very good heli pilot graciously took the time to check over my new Blade 450 helicopter and test it out for me before I gave it a try. I am a novice pilot when it comes to heli flying and referred to a better pilot to help me check it out which is always a good idea. It was a great learning experience for me and Manny and I had a blast today flying it. Stay tuned for a Blade 450 heli flight from me soon. Below is information on the Blade 450 heli and the link to check it out on Horizon Hobby’s website. Blade 450 3D BNF BASIC Key Features The DS76-series servos are specially designed to deliver maximum power and precision for extreme 3D heli flight The G210HL gyro uses the latest in MEMS technology to provide amazing holding power during the most aggressive 3D maneuvers The robust 35A speed controller is engineered to efficiently channel the high current flow of most any high-C 3S Li-Po battery The compact 4.0 gram AR6115E receiver provides the superior response of Spektrum DSM® control as well as the benefit of ServoSync which dramatically enhances the precision of any CCPM heli The rotor head mechanics have been optimized to provide the most aggressive 3D control response possible Overview The Blade 450 3D BNF blasts 3D heli performance to new levels of precision and power. It comes completely assembled and equipped for aggressive 3D aerobatics with the kind of pro-class electronics and mechanics you would expect to find in more expensive kits

@bottomgunner The software? i use is AutoCAD. Its not easily available and exspensive. There is a free cad software called ProgeCAD Smart. it is free and works very much the same as AutoCAD.

what computer software do i? use

  • bottomgunner:

good video. the computer software you used to develop the plane can you purchase it? and where? Thanks

  • geekfish:

How is this developing. The? FSW is a little hairy eh…:) I have a few creative solutions that actually worked. Makes the plane look crazy as well….

  • rcFoamFighters:

thanks comment and for watching slacker3442! More vids coming? soon.

  • slacker3442:

cool vid! I’ll keep watchin if? you keep ’em commin!

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks Rokit1man! I am not sure how this plane will fly, but figured I would try? something different. It will have a KFm2 airfoil too. Another unknown, how KF airfoils work on forward swept wings. I hope it does fly well at slower speeds since this plane is being built for my friend Chris who is still a novice pilot. Thanks again for your comment!

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks rctubers! i can use any luck i can get. I do hope the plane flies good.? I also hope your epp sukhoi flies great for you too.

  • Rokit1man:

Another cool EPP build. I hope? the forward swept wing plane stays stable at slow speeds to. Oh, thanks for sharing the monthly drawing with everyone. You guys are really generous with your projects, advice and everything else.

  • rctubers:

good luck with this i will stay tuned to find out what? its like. at the moment im making the epp sukhoi

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks Shaneeeek. As for now we haven’t tried to market anything. We are just having fun and trying to build a good base of friends and viewers. We hope to promote the hobby and scratch building. I want to try and keep our plans and information free if we can. We will be trying to post more? plans soon. Our hope is to have our sponsor ads on our blog pay for web fees & everything and keep the information free for our viewers. Not sure if it will work, but with our viewers support we hope so.

  • shaneeeeak:

are you guys marketing any? of these designs?

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks for the Comment BarbA31! Hmmm, you know what i never thought of it, but it does look a little like the stealth planes. At? least when they had the wings open. I just hope i can make her fly!

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks KaptainC! I hope it will fly? as well as she looks. Wish me luck. Thanks again for always commenting.

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks for the comment RCFMitch! I hope she flies great too. Sorry this one will not be for sale, i? already promised my friend Chris it was his if it works. But no fear, if it does fly good, I will have plans available for it. Thanks again!

  • BarbA31:

It looks like the Talon.. EDI from the movie

  • RCFMitch:

hope fully when your done with it and it flies great , i would like to by it and? try it…

  • rcFoamFighters:

RCFLIGHTHELP, I usually use AutoCAD to draw my plans. I usue it only because that is the program I am know well because I use it at my regular job to create? plans. there are other good low cost software out there too that would work well. TurboCAD, or even the free sketch up from google.

  • rcFoamFighters:

Thanks for the comment Brando. I hope you are right and that we can get this bird flying good. I’m sure it will still be here whan you come by to visit. I still? have a bit of work to do on it..

  • RCFLIGHTHELP:

What program? do you use ?

  • Master22RC:

@ControlDilemma quote: “Nice buttery smooth flight. Will? this heli actually do 3D or is it to sluggish to maintain extreme 3D. Go big or go home.” where is your question mark? I can’t answer a question without a question thingy! (hint: hit right shift and the key right to the left of it at the? same time. thank you.

  • saltshaker1337:
