How to build a RC plane for $10 (part 1)

This is a foam scratch built aircraft I called the Cess-nah!!! It is the best flying airplane in my arsenal of ten. I attempted to develop it for but simply because I additional landing gear and true hinges instead of tape, it finished up costing about . It took a few days to create and I have been flying it for 6 months or so. I love this aircraft,. Motor- BpHobbies outrunner 2217-6, 25 amp ESC, 11.1v 2200mah lipo, 3 Bluebird 371 micro servos, 9″ prop.

    I just bought a 1 inch thick 4′ X 8′ sheet of? pink foam for $12.95.
    I’ll never buy another kit.
Next thing you know I’ll be growing my own food.

hey i really want to make a plane but my motor is salvaged from a 4.5 volt rc car it needs 3 AA batteries and is kinda? weighty but i was just wondering if it might work and what a good scale would be (size of the plane)

Thank you? for knowledge… You have just enlighten my mind and also saved me hundreds of dollars…wow!! with your technique… The possibilities are endless….better than what’s I was looking for

  • hunterkick1:

and the demensions with? how many inches I should cut?

  • hunterkick1:

Can someone send me the plans for? this?

  • mr611man:

Elmers wood glue works real good? on this stuff.

I ordered a sheet of styrofoam. It’s 5 feet by 10 feet by12 feet. I building a car. It used a 35 cell lipo. I’m having a little trouble finding the right wheels. Sometimes I get this funny taste? in my mouth like aluminum.

    nice ? donuts!

    aesom i? lov <3 it

  • pencon61:

Why not just get? thicker styro sheet?

  • wickedpenguinbox:

Thanks Mate. I have almost finished building my? own version of this. Similar design, but a few little tweaks. One question though, how did you sand it so smooth, when I sand mine it keeps gouging out the foam.

  • JohnnyTheWrench:

Awesome video and thank you for the info. I’m wondering about how you figured? the dimentions of the plane. Did you use a formula, plans or wing it? No pun intended.

  • crossbow54:

Just wondering how? much were the controls and the motor of this plane?

  • Rikutheguy:

I bet my freind 10 pounds that he could make? this plane!

  • platinum9654:

i would like? to do this, but are there any alternative but slightly cheaper parts? I can afford the motor but the servos and batteries must be available cheaper somewhere….

  • NormanRB:

@platinum9654 Well that and the ‘free’ carbon rods that he uses, as well as? screws, covering, paint, CA, etc. I would guess this plane to be only $10 to build unless you had all of these random things around your house. Neat way to build your own plane, though and great results.

  • platinum9654:

I take? it its 10 dollars for just the body and not the servos/batteries/motor right?

  • levyjansen:

    cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool?

  • MonacoBlast:

@xianscott And the truth shall set you free. More money goes into the box than the actual plane. Myself? I had become addicted to? failure and had to join Losers Anonymous. LA, it seems, was just a front for a local rc club. Can you see where this is going? We spent hours and hours watching videos of rc plane crashes.
Hey!! Who ate the last Crispy Cream?

  • HESTEBAN915:
