HBK 2 heli autopilot

I like the complexity of RC heli, but I am a bad pilot. The purpose of this project is to developed autopilot/flight stabilizer. In this video there is a first endeavor to proof the concept. The board includes sensors (3axes accelerometer and 2 axes gyro) and C8051F410 microcontroller with the firmware, which contains Kalman filter and feedback control. The third (yaw)gyro is stock. This is actually the FIRST try, I hope we will comprehend also the tangible flight sometime. Everything is on the heli board, the cables and PC are enjoyed for parameters recording only.

    Hi,

Which software are you using for plotting graphs and what do they represent?

  • vartallion:

Hi, do you have the schematic of the board? And may I know what program is that you’re using to monitor the stability?

  • kubawasak:

it’s only auto gyroscope, not autopilot

  • Flight1142:

Good job. It seems very useful to fly beyond reach of your sight.

  • mraperish:

    awsome!

  • swraman:

I did the same thing for a project class this semester. only used a accelerometer (no gyros) so we couldnt get rid of the accelerometer “drift” but it worked out pretty well. got it to fly stably for a good minute.

  • nrm4life:

    nice work.

  • qrrak:

you are really stupid. even if it does not fly, im sure he gained lots of experience from this study.

  • heberorozco:

    nobody likes you…

  • mdivinc:

What a waste of my time! It means nothing teathered. take it out and let it fly. That crap will just fall out of the sky. Your only fooling yourself.

  • marcebut:

    good job!!!

  • suckmynobs:

    go try.

  • dodoshlodo:

how hard is it to do something like this??

  • Brockdwdew:

    w w w . t u b e v i e w s . n e t Finally a way to have control over where your video are shown when people are searching Youtube!

    Nice.

Can you sell one for me.?

  • Dowva:

Hey that’s a pretty neat design.. Really impressive, and to be honest I am inspired to try doing something similar myself.. could you mention what 3-axis Accelerometer did u use?

    thanks

  • potobill:

do you know any tutorial where I can learn how to work with gyros and accelerometers????
or any book or something like that????

    do you have any recomendation???
    thank you

Hey there, I’m working on three ADIS16100 Z-axis gyros + one ADXL330 XYZ accelerometer. How do you eliminate accumulated error and thermal drift?

  • qwwqqe:

Thats good if you want your heli to go scout around, mounted with a camera, and flys by itself.. much like the drones that the military is using..

  • malisiod:

I like the idea of a autopilot in an rc model. Especially if it can take control by itself and prevent a possible crash.

  • nibbler125:

its an esky you should have no problum flying it

  • adiyugi:

Hello.. I think many guys here are willing to buy your gadget, How about selling some?

  • mistrymp:

This is the exact same thing I wanted to do, and for the the same reason. I want to say this is a really good project and a really good job. I wanted to ask if the controller you programmed on your microcontroller has allowance for other pilot input (FWD flight etc.?). I am really interested in this project if possible I would like to talk to you more about it. Thank you.
