What is the gas exit velocity of each? To truly get power efficiency you need velocity, not just force. Power = force*velocity.

  • @demagescod9657:

Crazy how ineffecient BOTH of them really are. 800 ML per min!?!? that is 12.5 GPH… There are 200+ Hp planes that cruise on less fuel than that! I cruise my 300 Hp mercury outboards at about that GPH per engine.

  • @davidhollfelder9940:

The (likely) most efficient throttle setting is where the EGT is lowest .. usually somewhat above 1/2 (but not full) throttle.

  • @timlucas143:

Your results are consistent with what would be expected of Gas Turbine engines. These engines are most efficient at their highest throttle. Therefore if your desired thrust that you want to use most of the time is at a lower throttle for a given engine, your fuel used vs thrust output is typically going to be less efficient than a comparable engine which produces that thrust at its higher RPM spec.

  • @veluprabhakaran5980:

    Where can I get this?

  • @billn8555:

LOL, so one turbine is at 1/2 thrust, the other near max. How can you make a worse comparison for efficiency as turbine efficiency falls quickly when at partial throttle.

  • @erikmidgley1387:

I love to solder! This looks pretty handy. And thanks for the great video! I feel like turbine engines have an exponential thrust and fuel consumption line vs a piston engine is more linear. Your theory is likely true with piston engines, but i wasn’t expecting it to be LESS efficient doing the same test with turbines!

  • @thomaspuma434:

    This was very interesting

  • @DadaKondke-fl4is:

    Nice testing,
I am your big fan sir
I am see your channel from last few months and I saw that really you are working so hard continue this efforts I wish you all the best but take care yourself during work

Sir I want to purchase it from where I can purchase it can you say me

  • @DavidMason-mx5de:

Having just built a home built aircraft, those solders would have been helpful.

  • @davidhollfelder9940:

I’m of the understanding that the EGT low temp point, that’s between 1/2 & 3/4 ish throttle, is the best efficiency point.

  • @robinmiller986:

There's a new RC turbine engine now starting to come out The TF-1500 it's a big engine very big

  • @laor100:

Hi sir, I was wondering. Have you ever thought of building the first homemade jet engine from the 90s the fd3/64?
