Learning to fly – RC helicopter

This is my initial real flight with my RC helicopter. It was very a windy day but other than that I do not have quite very good skills. Also I’ve had intense setup troubles with my gyro so I’ve removed it and am flying with no one for the minute.

I agree, you definitely should not be flying any heli for that matter without a gyro… Get a good Futaba GY401 gyro if money is no issue, a good budget gyro is the Telebee one…

I’ve never heard of that brand heli. What gyro you using? I just got a new Trex last month RTF from ebay too, seller=rcmachine. It came with everything, just had to do some minor trim adjustments, a few adjustments to the tail servo and flew really good. It was also complete for about $250 shipped. Has a telebee gyro that holds the tail really well. I disconnected the remote gain though, just adjust directly on the gyro for now, tail is rock solid now.

I really think you should concertrate on sorting your Gyro issues, as you will become very frustrated without it.

You have to remember that with these helis you are constantly having to adjust all controls, and every time you increase or decrease your throttle the heli body is going to want to twist and you’re going to have to keep compensating for this when your gyro should be doing it for you, have patience, and keep at it!

Good first flight though, you must be well pleased 🙂
