HK 450 on floats Gets Wet…OOPS…dang it…
Testing out the floats…need to be a little wider….heli is okay, dried it out and it flew great…now back to the water
Flying over the Tamar river in Tasmania northern city, Launceston www.pleasetakemeto.com (population around 100000). The helicopter is a Hirobo Shuttle Plus II with a .32 OS engine running on Cool Power fuel 20% LS (low smoke) and an OS #7 glow plug. The floats came from Century floats (the same as Helimax floats) and the carbon blades are made by Rotortech (the original wooden blades have become a little bit warped). It is nicer and more fun flying over the water and it is probably a lot safer as well because there are no people walking around the flying area. Anyone can watch safely from the shore line if they are interested and there are no safety related hazards or distractions in front except for some unauthorized low flying Pelicans 🙂 Please note: “I do not own the copyright of the music on this clip”.

That was GREAT!!!!
Hey, I’m not the only one to take an HK450 for a swim.
no damage at all…have made some wider floats, yet to test, they should be perfect…very cool flying over the water , wouldn’t you say? Not too many people do it with helis, that I could find anyway…..
Flying over water! Woohoohoo!
