build review coming soon on RCHeliResource!

@leezaal I have both a Phoenix ICE 100 (in a 500) and Phoenix ICE 80HV (in this 700) and both have worked without any problems using the current firmware. With their data logging capabilities providing an invaluable tool, they are a best buy in my book compared to all of the other ESCs currently on the market – Dan G.

@rcheliresource its a beast alright, awesome bit of kit iv’e heard good things about the castle ice esc can you confirm it has no probs ?

  • rcheliresource:

@leezaal We are switching to a Hyperion 2s1700 LiFEPO4 battery to power the electronics. This will eliminate the BEC and drop about 50 grams from the model.

The ESC did start to cut power since it was over-temping and amping due to the 2100 headspeed I was commanding. The model needs to be dialed back, but nonetheless, the begining of the video gives you insight into what a 10 horsepower 700 model can do. Certainly not the most powerful setup out there, but still impressive IMHO 🙂

@rcheliresource with an iphone? w0w then its quite good quality

  • leezaal:

It seamed to be struggling from around 1.30min onwards …tired batts??
Only joking, great flight & crazy setup.like the way you use a separate lipo for the receiver so at least you can auto it if the main batts die.
Heard bert kammerer say he uses the same method with the big electrics too.

  • rcheliresource:

@wallaguest1 This was recorded on a iphone4 and for what it is, it’s not all that bad considering it’s a phone.

  • wallaguest1:

damn cmos sensors… blades look curved due to rolling shutter, wish you use CCD in next videos

  • RoboTekno:

    epic setup 😀

  • BryansFlyin:
