Easy to fly, camera was decent, dual battery for extended time,
Customer Video Review Length:: 9:51 Mins
HD Vid: https://youtu.be/h6mhxjClzmo
Please watch my video for full review, here’s the summary:
– 2 batteries, up to 20 minutes of play time
– Easy to fly, durable, take a ton of beating and still is fine.
– Under 7 MPH wind easy to fly. Anything above 10 it’s tough, but doable.
– In open field great range and goes high but I didn’t test ceiling due to too much wind.
– Camera record decent footage. Picture were tricky unless you were hovering still in a spot.
– 360 flips are easy to perform using the 1 button or using the directional flip. You will lose attitude (2-3 ft) with this so make sure you are high off the ground before doing it.
– Button for light, not really that useful but it’s there, may be for night flight.
Overall great unit for starting out that comes with a camera. It will take a beating and still continue to work. Please check my profile for YT link so you can see the high resolution video of this review.
Please note a retail unit of this product was sent to me for a fair and honest review.

Best camera in RTF quads I have seen,
Customer Video Review Length:: 12:23 Mins
I have several mini quadcopter, and similar sized ones to the U818A-1. This one has the best camera. No flutters, (or very minimal) and takes pretty decent video you could actually use! There is no gimbal system so when the quad turns the video turns, but once again there is no flutter. This quad will fly fast and somewhat reminds me of flying a airplane in a way. It glides though the air. This thing would be excellent for beginners as it can take a beating. It is very light weight and not good for windy days, but on a calm day it flys awesome. 2 batteries are included and the charging USB is elite for sure. Charge both batteries at the same time and the batteries/ charger are quality built. I did not have the previous version with the older camera so I’m not sure if the transmitter has been changed. The one that comes with the new one I can speak for and it is excellent as well. I always have to bring the quadcopter down to me because I forget if I cam taking video. Not with this one though, there is a icon right on the transmitter that shows you are! Excellent feature 🙂

A perfect “First Quad”,
It is a toy, though, so don’t expect to be able to do too much precision photography of the birds nest in the top of the tree. The copters steer by banking, so the videos will have a lot of tipping back and forth. But its a great little device to learn the basics of flight. It can take a lot of punishment, and the integrated prop guards are perfect for beginners.
The instructions say to fly in a big field, and my advice is: *fly in a big field*! It is very susceptible to being blown around by the wind, and if you get too much altitude, you won’t be able to tell which end of the copter is the front, and then navigation becomes really tricky. If you aren’t in a big grassy area, the chance of it dropping into someone’s back yard and disappearing is very real.
The designers tried to help you tell which end was the front by having two bumpers extend from the prop guards, a LED light, and by having the front two props a different color than the back two. However, when it starts getting up over 75 feet or so, it becomes really hard to figure out the copters orientation, and you can easily have it running away from you when you are trying to bring it back. I almost lost mine on the second day, when the wind picked up and it took off down the street.
Two pieces of advice prior to your first flight: put your contact information on it right away, in case it gets blown off course and ends up in someone’s yard. Since the manual is rather hard to understand, hit YouTube a watch some of the unboxing videos to get a better idea of how to fly it.
It might also be a good idea to spray paint the underside of the copter white in the front, to help with navigation.
The package contains:
copter with integrated HD camera
a controller
two batteries for the copter
a USB charger that can charge both batteries at the same time,
4 extra props
4 extra tiny gears
a screwdriver
a 2 GB MicroSD card for the camera
instruction manual
Does not include AA batteries needed for the controller
