I bought this as an initial trainer to see if drone flying is right for me. So far I’m impressed and no reason not to give this a high rating. The length of flights have been approx. 7-10 minutes, the IPhone App has worked flawlessly and overall I’m very happy. If my attitude changes, I’ll update my review but so far I’m more than impressed for the price. JUST NOTE: This is not a high end photography platform. That costs real money but this is a great entry to learn how to fly and position the camera, etc.

As a model flyer since 1968, this ‘toy’ quadcopter, (don’t call them drones!), is the best balanced model of any type, out of the box, I’ve ever owned. I started flying quads with expensive hobby grade models. But learning on a $500+ model is scary, from the fear of destroying the investment! So the Syma lets you fly this model for a fraction of that and the lack of that fear, makes you enjoy it, right out of the box!

excellent product and value, got this syma X5SW for my son (6 years old). came with a battery and screwdriver to assemble the blade guards and feet as well. ready to fly out of the box. The manual is very simple where you can figure out what needs to be done to fly asap. Here are the steps as simple as can be.

1, after assembly (not hard to do at all.) turn on your remote, then turn on your Syma.
2. press the left joystick all the way up then back down, you’ll hear a beep and you are ready to fly.

that’s it.

In the manual they explain MODE 1 and MODE 2, look at it and you will see what is easier for you.

Other than that. Love it have had it for 3 days and cannot wait to get into more advanced models.
