Vintage R/C Helicopter – Du-Bro Whirlybird 505

Radio Control helicopters had a rough begin again in the early 1970’s. They had been primitive automobiles in comparison to what’s accessible today and just only had adequate controllability to hover or execute slow, ahead flight. This heli is an example of the USA’s 1st commercially created and effective operational product, the Whirlybird 505 intended by Dave Grey and manufactured by Du-Bro, makers of equipment for R/Do design airplanes. There is no gyro linked to the tail rotor as a single would commonly find on a contemporary R/Do heli, the engine rotates on best of the primary rotor and the gasoline tank rotates under the engine with no means of observing fuel degree. If the motor quits, the heli falls as if a supporting string were minimize. Flight time is strictly limited to 6 minutes for safety causes. Thanks go out to Joel Rosenzwieg for shooting this video!
