Learn to hover! How to fly a helicopter

develop your own: www.heli-chair.com this is my flight coaching device, the heli-chair. this video clip is a image in photo setup, so you can check out the helicopter as i manipulate the controls. a excellent way to discover the essentials of how a helicopter flys with a target on understanding to hover.

I have not practised hovering in fairly some time. So I determined to try out and fly forward left and correct ish 🙂 This is my 1st actual attempt at flying forwards left and proper. I liked it. I’m standing by my Mini DV spy cam.

Not gonna lie… I’m a halfway decent r/c heli pilot but this would definitely result in a crash for me to try it. I saw another video of yours and it makes 100% perfect sense why this device exists. It’s freaking genius. Practice from 3rd person perspective before you get into the real thing. Great idea.

dissapointing video. You need to go to flight school, rather than play with toys to learn how to fly a helicopter.

@amxen1 Then you buy sensors, actuators and plans to extend the chair so it follows the orientation of the model as it moves 😀 fasten your seatbelt first!

I need help, my helicopter keeps turning left. not spinning but it keeps going in circles plz help

  • e3dflyer:

Did this back in 90 and was able to hold a stable hover and do 360 degree pedal turns with all controls in a real heli. Don’t go try to fly a real one until you can hold
a stable hover with the model. After about 25 hours of practice you should be good to go. A Hughes 300 should be used instead of an R22 for the first flights because it’s more forgiving.

Dude, I knows it’s boring, but unless you want to spend money on crashes don’t do any “forward flying”. You need to master sideway’s hovering. Right. Left. Then Nose-in. THEN YOU SHOULD START forward flight. Just my opinion, ofcourse. I can’t stop you from rock and rolling. Just don’t become a permanent sports flyer who can invert for 2 seconds, but keeps crashing when making fundamental “right turns”.
