4 channel Air Hogs Helix 360 Review and flight

It all started back in 2006 when Belgian engineer Alexander van de Rostyne built the pixelito, which was produced by silverlit as the picoo z, the picoo z was also recognized by Guinness book of world records as the world’s smallest rc helicopter. The picoo z was released in America and Canada by spin master and air hogs as the havoc heli For a lot of people it was their first introduction to rc helicopters, and it was a sensation. Over the next few years silverlit airhogs and spinmaster released a few versions of the havoc heli From infra red battling version to the tandem Chinook. Most of these aircraft only had 2 or 3 channels of control. Now with the release of the helix 360 there is finally a fully functional 4 channel havoc heli on the market. First for those of you who don’t know what 4 channels of control means Basically the pilot can make the helicopter fly up and down drift left and right spin left and right and move forwards and backwards. Up until now all havoc helis have either been 2 or 3 channel aircraft, missing either the ability to control forward and reverse motion or side to side roll. Now with the helix 360 you can hover you havoc heli in place, fly backwards make precision landings and fly in and out of tight spots. The amount of control that the 4th channel offers is priceless, finally you can get your heli to do what you want instead of just trying to keep it in the air.

@taoistflyer Thanks taoistflyer. I actually went to Radio Shack and had it exchanged since I had it for only a few days. I ended up paying an extra $6 for a 1year exchange warranty so no needing to go through air hogs directly and having to wait for shipment time. Anyway, I exchanged the defective one for another one and I’m loving it xD! It’s a great heli.

@2applecider I’ll try can you post some video of it, maybe that would help.

  • taoistflyer:

@modernart86 you should definitely get it exchanged, air hogs is usually reall good about replacing defective aircraft.

  • IdahoMutt:

Where do i pick one up?!?!

    @taoistflyer Gotcha

After watching this video I went out and bought me one for $40 at Radio Shack =P. Awesome video man, such detail and its very informative! Keep up the great work. Although, sadly to say. My Helix360 that I bought is broken right out the box =(. I have no forward, back, strafe left, strafe right control. I think the 4 fingers that control the “swash plate” collar thing for the blade pitch is broken. I only get noise and no movement when I have it sitting still and use the right stick.

  • taoistflyer:

@NiggaPlease2222 it takes a lot of control to make it drift left right or to go in reverse, air hogs suggest not just pushing in the direction you want to go but also rocking back and forth, so to go backwards you push reverse and rock the stick left and right, it’s not quit like flying an MSR that’s full out balls to the walls fast, but at the same time as stable as a rock.

Taoistflyer I have a reflex helix and I trim it like crazy but it is still really unstable and it spins can you help?

  • sparky0308:

Wow , looks like this post got a bit off subject. I got a question for you. I tried as I have done with many of my ” Little” heli’s to add some weight to the nose for faster forward flight and on this Hog, it must have messed up the Gyro or something. I tried to fly it 100 times after I took the weight off and it just went crazy, and then after holding it steady in my hand about ten times out of no where it just started working right again. Have you ever seen this before? Can u make it faster?

  • UltraZekrom100:

No offense but do u have a job? Is this what ur gonna do ur whole life?
    LOL!!!!!!

    AGAIN NO OFFENSE!!!!

  • NiggaPlease2222:

Yes that control is crazy i trimmed the shit out of it and still does not have this much control at all … i did not put anyway weight on it at all , but still i cant make it go left or right without it going crazy … and suggestions ?

@audiodrew1 those are what grandmas and grandpas call rabbit ears, an ancient technology dating back many decades used to sell soap to the masses through cleverly disguised radio and TV broadcasts.

  • taoistflyer:

@Will42591 buy the helix 360 definitely, it’s more stable, flies longer, charges quicker, and is lighter and stronger.

  • audiodrew1:

What is that crazy looking thing on top of your depth challenged TV? @6:31

All we need now is a Miniature New York AWESOME!!!

  • taoistflyer:

@donmei it was the esky honey be CP, and it was a pain in the ass to tune it and keep it flying.

  • taoistflyer:

@zcxvasdfqwer1234 Cp helis are a pain in the ass to learn to fly, this heli should really help you get some of the basics down much cheaper and safer.

  • SuperGaminGirl:

@johnny4631 I have compared charging batteries with a USB cable and I have notice it takes a lot long to charge. And with quick charge rechargeable batteries. its not really that much of a time saver, in my opinion.

  • timyfin:

@Will42591 I recomended buy both of them and Nine Eagle 312A, (Z008 i buy it with 9 €) but Air Hogs cost 50 € for me.
Z flying time is longer, but feels like a toy. it have beter Batery and it end almost suddently when u still fly. Not so quiet.
Z008 feels stronger and it is made by metal mostly. Not so effective batery end slowly. more quiet and beter noise than Air Hogs.

  • timyfin:

Got this helicopter too but i dont know why my copter is orange. Maybe not same brand but basicly totally same 4 ch. it felt well until i buy Z008. Now it feels like toy, because plastic feeling on it. But this fellow can fly very agressive way if u are experienced it take much more small winds that Z008 even suckownself on walls if u go too near them because wind punch back from walls what helicopter do.
