  • mttdry:

your flying is pretty good but why are you flying on a beach with people round. not exactly responsiable. hit 1 and you end up in jail.
    dumbass

  • TachyonDriver:

Nice Raptor! Do you have an air filter on the engine?
Would not want to get sand in it!

    @juz70
I used the flycamone v1 on this flight, but will be making a perspex camera box to carry a full sized camcorder under the heli. Hopefully it will have some good footage from it. Not as interesting as yours mate…lol. Thanks for the comment.

  • juz70:

cool. I like that perspective. I’ve tried that with my trex 500 with a cam on the front at the same time!

Oh and yep I did a FPV flight once using an early version of a 2.4ghz wireless camera running through a laptop. It was a complete flop as when I flew past my car (where I was stood) the picture on the laptop lost the signal for a few seconds. Not good, so I stoped. I would love to try it again using better equipment.
I will post you a link to the how to mount the flycam one video as soon as I put it up. Take care mate.

  • 8682morts:

I will do a video about how I mounted the camera on the tail and put it up for you Friday (tomorrow). The main on board camera I use is a flycamone v2 with an Extreme sd card for video capture. I have seen you fly and your well on your way to flying up high like this… Your a real life Heli pilot…lol. you know exactly what your doing.

  • CrazyHeliDude:

Yes it is impressive. That’s the first time I’ve seen a tail mounted cam setup like that. Seeing the heli as it flies adds something to it. Do you have any pics of how you have it set up and the cam you’re using? Still waiting to get to the point to fly my blade 400 up there like that… 🙂 but I want to make vids like that. Have you ever done any FPV flying?

  • 8682morts:

hey Crazy, thanks for the comment. This heli is a 30 size. It is a small size heli, but it has the O.S 37 max engine and its power is very impressive…to me anyway….lol

  • CrazyHeliDude:

This is very cool, what size heli is that?

  • rotorwash46:

HEY sweet like warderseeker said mount on balsa and foam on skids full vid view is awsome love it buddy talk again soon thanks for all the info

  • 8682morts:

you can get a medium sized electric helicopter that are powerful fun and cheap. Twister 3D storm , Blade 400, Raptor E550 and the E325., very smart cheap packages and not so expensive on the batteries. Hope this helps.

  • 8682morts:

Ok, it is very possible to get a large electric heli, the ones your best checking out are the raptor E620 or the align range… Trex 500-600. Even the Mikado LOGO 10 are fine. The only advantage of the nitro over the electrics are.. Longer flight times, cheap engines. disadvantages are the price of the start up gear and fuel, plus you have to haul it where ever you go flying..(BIG PAIN). Electrics are cleaner and can be as powerful, but the batteries are expensive and dont last that long.

  • dk01945:

I’ve been looking into the gas powered range but they are a bit pricey, and I’ve never owned a large scaled heli before. I have a nitro car and in the rc car world the brushless motors are more powerful than nitro, so I was just wondering if you could give me the brief advantages of a gas heli, and wouldn’t you be able to put a powerful brushless in the heli that can match a gas one?

  • 8682morts:

Hi there dk01945, Small electrics are much harder than larger ..say 30 sized helis (electric or gas) and up. Infact the larger the R/C helicopter is the more stable they tend to be. I now infact buddy box newer flyers to help them get used to helis flying outside of the ground effect. Bigger heavier helicopters are a damn sight easier to fly than the lightweight electrics. Need any advice just mail me, I will always try and help.
    Happy flying mate.
